VASP Setup in Seychelles & Mauritius: What You Need to Know
Did You Know?
Earlier this year, the Seychelles government passed a bill to register and authorize Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) – companies that operate with virtual currencies. Since the legislation’s enactment, we’ve received inquiries about the requirements and steps needed to establish a VASP business in Seychelles. While we’re fully equipped to assist with these setups, it’s important to note that this new legislation may lead to a complex and extended process. Such a procedure of authorization may take well over a year (Despite claims circulating between the services providers about 6-9 weeks).
In contrast, we recently obtained a VASP authorization in Mauritius, where regulations have been in place for over two years. The procedure there is better-defined, and we have extensive insight into the requirements, approval conditions, and insider knowledge that we can share with interested clients.
