Scam Alert: The So-Called “Central Reserve Authority of Western Sahara”

In recent weeks, a suspicious entity has surfaced online under the name Central Reserve Authority (CRA) of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (Western Sahara), hosted at crasadr.com. On the surface, the website presents itself as a financial regulator, claiming to oversee banks, financial institutions, and even issue “crypto licenses” from a so-called free zone.

At first glance, this might appear to be just another regulator in an emerging jurisdiction. However, a closer look reveals a number of red flags that strongly suggest this operation is not legitimate.

Red Flags and Warning Signs

  1. Questionable Jurisdiction
The Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (Western Sahara) is a partially recognized state with an unresolved territorial dispute. That makes it an unlikely and legally dubious base for a credible financial regulator. No recognized international regulatory body acknowledges such an authority.

  2. Dubious Licensing Claims
The website advertises “crypto licenses.” This is a major red flag. Legitimate regulators issue licenses for Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs), not vague “crypto licenses.” The terminology alone signals a lack of professionalism and authenticity.

  3. Fake Communication Tactics
Reports indicate that the same consultants behind previous fraudulent “regulator” websites are now promoting CRA. They use:

    • A website with an online chat function to lure in victims.

    • Mass email campaigns from supposed “agents” whose names, when checked, do not exist on LinkedIn or anywhere else online.

  4. No Transparency
There is no verifiable information about the entity’s leadership, governance, or physical presence. A proper regulator would provide license numbers, legislation, and enforceable legal frameworks. CRA offers none.

Conclusion

The Central Reserve Authority of Western Sahara appears to be yet another scam “regulator” designed to sell worthless licenses to unsuspecting companies and consultants.

Stay away, be vigilant, and do not engage with this entity. If an offer sounds too good to be true – such as an easy, cheap “crypto license” from a little-known jurisdiction – it probably is.
